Firefighters stop Wodonga house blaze from spreading further | The Border Mail

Police are investigating a fire at a Wodonga home on Monday evening. A Fire Rescue Victoria spokeswoman said four firefighters responded to the Pearce Street incident just after 7.30pm, after a caller to triple zero reported smoke coming from a house. “Firefighters arrived on scene in five minutes to find the house well alight,” she said. “Wearing breathing apparatus, they attacked the fire and brought it under control within 20 minutes of arriving on scene. “Firefighters transferred one person into the care of Ambulance Victoria paramedics.” Detective Sergeant Graeme Simpfendorfer, of Wodonga police, said firefighters were able to contain the blaze to the unit and stop it spreading to neighbouring homes….
